Our Little Red

Triston is officially a "little red" as of today. Triston started at Lamar early development today. His teacher is Mrs. Dee. She said he did really good today. She said that he didn't want to take a nap and he wanted a light left on at nap time which is no surprise since he is scared of the dark. He was snoozing when I came to pick him up. He looked so peaceful sleeping on his transformer pillow & transformer kindermat cover that BeBe made him.

I Survived!

Today was my first day actually attending Lamar. Jessica, I got there thirty minutes early so I'm not as nerdy as you-(just kidding). It wasn't as bad as I had it worked up in my head as being. I think that I might like it.......maybe....or at least tolerate it.

Tray and Rylee's first day of school!

Today was the first day of school for Tray and Rylee. Tray is in the fourth grade and Rylee is in the first. Tray seemed a little nervous this morning. He will be changing classes this year and he even has a locker. We are still trying to perfect the combination locker thing. I got to walk them both into school today. I'm gonna be so sad when they feel like they have become too old for me to walk them to class on the first day of school. When we walked in Rylee's class this morning, a little girl said "she goes to my church." I'm glad Rylee has a church friend in her class. I hope this is a good school year for us and all our family and friends. My first day is tomorrow and Triston's first day is Thursday. I'll keep you posted. Ray gave all of us sweet blessings last night.

Happy Birthday Tray!

Tray had his 9th birthday party today on his birthday. We rented the bungee at the mall for thirty minutes then we had cake and opened presents. It was short and sweet. Tray had a great time! I can't believe that Tray is already nine and will be in the fourth grade this year. So here are nine things that we love about Tray. 1. He helps out around the house. 2. He is a dare devil. 3. When he finds something funny, he laughs and laughs and laughs! 4. He is an excellent student at school. 5. He loves playing his PlayStation. 6. He loves spending time with his cousins. 7. He acts mature for his age. 8. He is good at karate. 9. He cares about people's feelings. We love you Tray.

Family Fun at the Beach or Not

We took the kids to the beach today. We had a fun time flying kites and wading in the water.(We weren't so successful at building sandcastles.) Tray managed to get stung by a jellyfish. I took him to the lifeguard who confirmed that it did look like a jelly fish sting. She gave him meat tenderizer (looked like salt) and vinegar that he made a paste out of and rubbed it on the sting. Tray is such a trooper. He didn't cry that much which is what made me doubt rather or not it was a jellyfish. However, I did turn this experience into a learning opportunity. I had just told him to come with me closer to the shore and he wasn't exactly minding. I did mention to him on more than one occasion that had he been where I told him to be that wouldn't have happened.

Sister Canoe Trip

My sister Chrissy and her husband have been staying at our house for the past week. She requested that we go canoeing during her stay here. We live really close to the creek and see the canoe rental people go up and down our street all the time. So we decided to give it a shot. Before our departure, we asked the canoe guy, Perry, a million questions. We even nicknamed him Perry Berry. It was a four mile trip that took us two hours. I heard that there was some kind of solar heat wave today and maybe that explains why it was so hot! Overall it was a good experience. Chrissy says that she hates canoeing and that was the worst sixteen dollars that she has ever spent. We did get a few hours to talk and laugh!

While the kids are away the mom & dad like to play!

Mom and Dad have have had the kids since Tuesday. Jeff and Mel get them tomorrow. Good luck yall. Ray and I took an opportunity to sneak away to Galveston. We ate at the Saltgrass and rented a jet ski. I've always wanted to do that. I was somewhat of a chicken. The waters were very choppy today. Ray did a good job at not tipping us over until we were returning the jet ski and a wave took us out. We were so close to shore when that happened that we could touch the bottom. I was spooked by the seaweed that I was imagining was a jelly fish or something worse but we manage to make it back to shore unharmed. lol. We enjoyed ourselves.
